Finnish goalkeeper Matias Riikonen joins FCK U19s on loan
F.C. Copenhagen Talent have loaned 18 year old Finnish goalkeeper Matias Riikonen from Ilves for the rest of the season.
The keeper has been around the Finnish U17 and U18 international sides and has already made his senior debut. This weekend he played his sixth game for Ilves' first team in Veikkausliiga.
He will head straight into the FCK Talent system.
"Matias Riikonen is a very interesting goalkeeper, who at a young age has shown that he can perform at senior level," says Sune Smith-Nielsen, Head of Talent at F.C. Copenhagen.
"This deal is also part of our strategy of attracting the best young talents in the Nordic region.
"The plan is that he will play for our U19 team this season, while there is a basis for a permanent deal with a view to becoming part of our goalkeeping team on the first team in the future," Smith-Nielsen says.
Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen welcomes Matias to the club.
